Vertebrae Coronal Fracture following Oblique lateral Lumbar Interbody Fusion: Case Report
نویسندگان
چکیده
Objective: Oblique lateral lumbar interbody fusion (OLIF) surgery has been increasingly proposed a preferred minimally invasive approach for degenerative pathology. We aimed to report cases with vertebrae coronal fracture (VCF) following OLIF combined anterolateral single-rod screw fixation (OLIF-AF). Methods: A retrospective review was performed on all patients who underwent OLIF-AF between October, 2017 and February, 2021. Patients VCF were selected further analysis. RESULTS: Two (0.37%) out of 534 total (707 levels) identified OLIF-AF. Both presented severe back pain radiating bilateral legs within 10 days after surgery. osteoporosis had improper motion at early stage postoperative. Managed conservative treatment, the healed successful achieved in both patients. CONCLUSIONS: is rare but anguished complication. The contributing factor may include osteoporosis, overweight premature motion. Based these reports, we caution surgeons should repeatedly advise limit movement postoperative, especially

Mini-Open Anterior Retroperitoneal Lumbar Interbody Fusion: Oblique Lateral Interbody Fusion for Degenerated Lumbar Spinal Kyphoscoliosis
STUDY DESIGN Prospective case series. PURPOSE To examine the clinical efficacy of mini-open anterior retroperitoneal lumbar interbody fusion: oblique lateral interbody fusion (OLIF) for degenerated lumbar spinal kyphoscoliosis. OVERVIEW OF LITERATURE The existing surgical procedures for the treatment of spinal kyphotic deformity, including Smith-Petersen osteotomy, pedicle subtraction osteo...
متن کاملMini-Open Anterior Retroperitoneal Lumbar Interbody Fusion: Oblique Lateral Interbody Fusion for Lumbar Spinal Degeneration Disease
PURPOSE Surgery for lumbar spinal degeneration disease is widely performed. While posterior decompression and fusion are popular, anterior lumbar interbody fusion (ALIF) is also used for treatment. Extreme lateral interbody fusion (XLIF) is commonly used for noninvasive ALIF; however, several complications, such as spinal nerve and psoas muscle injury, have been reported. In the current study, ...
متن کاملLateral Lumbar Interbody Fusion
The lateral lumbar interbody fusion (LLIF) is a relatively new technique that allows the surgeon to access the intervertebral space from a direct lateral approach either anterior to or through the psoas muscle. This approach provides an alternative to anterior lumbar interbody fusion with instrumentation, posterior lumbar interbody fusion, and transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion for anterior...
متن کاملCorrection of Coronal Imbalance in Degenerative Lumbar Spine Disease Following Direct Lateral Interbody Fusion (DLIF)
OBJECTIVE The authors have recently been using a surgical technique of minimally invasive direct lateral interbody fusion (DLIF) for correcting of coronal imbalance. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the surgical outcome and complication of DLIF. METHODS We undertook retrospective analysis of a consecutive series of 8 DLIF procedures in Degenerative lumbar spine disease since May 2011...
متن کاملNeural Deficits and Lateral Lumbar Interbody Fusion
In fact, besides the avoidance of morbidities associated with traditional anterior or posterior interbody fusion techniques, including injury to visceral, vascular or neural structures, minimally invasive LLIF enables the surgeon to spare the anterior and posterior longitudinal ligaments during the surgical approach, and to implant cages with a large footprint, designed to span the dense apophy...
